NORTHAMPTONSHIRE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY IS TAKING PLACE ON FRIDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2016

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DAY IS TAKING PLACE ON FRIDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2016

It's a day where schools (including primary schools) join together to show their support of the Mental Health Stigma Programme. The day provides a great opportunity to raise awareness of mental health stigma to young people in lots of interesting, fun and inclusive ways.

What's happening on the day?

A set of resources is being launched for use in secondary schools, focusing on self-help and peer support. Resources include:

  • Posters
  • Chatterbox
  • Short film
  • PowerPoint for use in assembly
  • Information leaflet: for use within schools
A set of resources for primary schools have been developed for use on, or leading up to, the day that include:
  • Posters promoting the day
  • A PowerPoint presentation for use in assembly
  • Ideas for activities on the day
For further information about these resources please contact Tessa Parkinson:

We will be giving each secondary school a hand stamp to use on the day... students will be asked to demonstrate their commitment to stamping our mental health stigma by stamping a mental health message on their hand.

We will be launching balloons from schools, colleges and community settings at 12 midday.

We will also be selling wristbands to mark mental health awareness day and raise funds for Northamptonshire MIND.
