The Division of Psychology at The University of Northampton seeks to recruit a specialist in Systemic Family Therapy. The University has recently secured a contract to deliver Health Education England’s programme Children and Young People’s Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies, as part of the Midlands CYP-IAPT Collaborative. In 2016-2017, we are offering a Postgraduate Certificate in Transformational Leadership, a Postgraduate Certificate in Enhanced Evidence Based Practice, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice. In 2017-18 we will also offer a PG Dip in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and intend to develop additional CYP IAPT programmes.

This post is intended to support this development, and will involve substantial input in the Postgraduate Diploma in Systemic Family Practice, and the Postgraduate Certificate in Enhanced Evidence Based Practice. You should therefore hold an appropriate qualification in Systemic Family Therapy (preferably accredited by, or eligible for accreditation by the Association for Family Therapy).  Qualification as a supervisor would also be an advantage. The successful applicant may also be asked to contribute to the the MSc Counselling Children and Young People and the MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health, as well as undergraduate programmes in the Division of Psychology.

You should be a highly motivated individual, able to contribute to teaching, supervision and module leadership on these programmes.  Experience teaching in the HE sector is desirable (with considerable experience in either teaching, team leadership, mentoring or supervision for Senior Lecturer).  In addition to your professional qualification in Systemic Family Therapy, you should hold a Masters degree or Postgraduate Diploma in this or other psychological therapies, and ideally a PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant field.
