Zippy’s Friends is an international wholeclass programme for 5-7 year-old children. It will effectively teach children social and coping skills and is endorsed by the World Health Organisation. The programme centres around Zippy the stick insect!

Zippy‘s Friends is an engaging 24-weekprogramme suitable for young children of all abilities. Since 2010, 74 schools in Northamptonshire have used the programme with Y1 or Y2 pupils.

A highly rigorous study in 2012, replicated previous findings and showed that Zippy’s Friends improves children’s coping skills, reduces bullying in the classroom and increases academic achievement. It also made a new finding: that classroom climate is improved by implementation of the programme.
